Abstract
Based on the results of Russian sociological research and statistical data, the article analyzes migration sentiment among students. The main objective of the study is to identify the characteristics of migration sentiment among students living in various local territorial entities of the Russian Federation. The authors pay considerable attention to the factors of emigration sentiment among students, rightly noting that in the long term they negatively affect the structure and quality of the labor resources of the country as whole and individual regions in particular. The authors are justifiably concerned about the results of a sociological study, indicating that after receiving an education, only less than half of Russian students firmly intend to stay in Russia, and a third of those surveyed to link their life plans to where they can get a good job. Focusing on the scale and direction of student youth's emigration sentiments, the authors emphasize the determining role of the socio-economic situation as a factor in such sentiments. According to the authors, the main ways to optimize the situation in this area is to create effective mechanisms that will help students in developing an objective approach to assessing their capabilities and prospects, the effectiveness of which in the context of growing international tensions and strengthening sanctions against Russia presupposes adequate changes in social, youth and state migration policy.
