Abstract
In this article, the author examines the role of liberalism as one of the supporting elements of the ideological space that has lost its former political significance, but retains its importance in the context of discursive practices and value self-determination of modern man and society. According to the author, the historical typology of liberalism allows not only to overcome stereotyped ideas about its essence, but also to clearly distance modern liberalism from previous liberal projects with their characteristic contradictions and risks.
