Abstract
South Korea is a multi-religious country and officially declares its desire to achieve interreligious peace and harmony. However, anti-Muslim sentiments have been on the rise in South Korean society. They can be divided into several waves: 2016, 2018, 2021, caused primarily by world events, as well as internal conflicts. The roots of Islamophobia lie in the negative image of Muslims in the news and the anti-Muslim activities of Protestant associations. Muslim migrants face hate speech and discrimination from South Koreans.
