Abstract
The article deals with the problem of the method of allocation of the votes in the institutions and structures of the EU. The purpose of the article is to explore how the distribution of votes in the EU authorities affects on the alignment of political forces within the EU and on the decision-making process. Using the mathematical method of regression analysis the authors estimated the possible distribution of votes for the EU countries as well as in the case of successful accession of 8 new EU members, in the case of the collapse of some European countries to regions and their re-accession to the EU and in the case of a hypothetical Ukraine's entry into the EU. Using that data the authors proposed four scenarios of the possible developments: ideal, real, regional and speculative ones.
