Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of formation of historical science during the 18th - 19th centuries. The German scientists were the leaders in this process in Europe. The author of the publication noted the significant role of the Heidelberg school of historians in the institutionalization of scientific historiography in Germany. The basic ideas and concepts of the Heidelberg historical school were proposed by the prominent members of the school - Friedrich Schlosser and Georg Gervinus. The author notes that many ideas of German historians were receipted in Russia and had the scientific development in the Russian historiography.
