Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the regional policy in the Far Eastern Federal District, its main differences and trends in the changing relations between the center and the regions and the development of federalism in general. In practice the regional policy in the Far Eastern Federal District was manifested in the creation of the new government, in the experiments with the implementation of special economic zones. The increase of the financial support does not solve as the issues of irregular economic and social development of its component regions, so the decrease of investments. Authors argues that the business corporations, especially energetic ones, who can use their lobbying during the implementation of major resource projects are the important actors in the relations between the federal and regional political elites. Therefore, it is important to pursue the policy of decentralization of federal relations in the direction of a greater regional autonomy.
