Abstract
Features and transformation of personal existence in the modern era of social involvement, such as narrowing the frames of personal choice, depersonalization, the suppression of the individual principle by the social one, etc. are analyzed in the article. The author examines the growing tendency in society to social autism, social exclusion, loneliness and alienation. In the network society this situation is only strengthened. Therefore, the problem of refraction of personal autonomy in a situation of total involvement, the development of models of its security is very relevant in the practice of higher education. A way to protect themselves from the risk of social absorption and response to the challenges of engagement is the development of cognitive abilities and personal competencies, aimed at building a genuine, sovereign existence and self-reflexive identity of youth. The development of reflective habits of young people within the educational practices is prompted as a means of selfdefense of individual’s autonomous status.
