Abstract
Political parties are defined by the author as entities that are seeking election or promotion of their leaders in public office. Usually parties have a formal structure, statutes and programs. The party officially presents their candidates to the voters, campaigns for their election and attracts the masses to their side. The article is devoted to the analysis of the main functions and the specificities of the party organizations.
