Abstract

The article provides the analysis of the political regimes in the post-Soviet territory. The authors suggested an ideologically neutral classification of the political regimes dividing them into two basic types, polygarchy and neoprincipate. Polygarchy as a regime of two or more competitive elites is inherent for the Western states. Neoprincipate as a regime of oligarchies with a leadership structure became popular in the states of modernity alternative to the Western ones (including for example in the post-Soviet states).
