Abstract

After the collapse of the Soviet Union Mongolia entered democratic period. The period of 1990s was characterized by the profound economic and social crisis. Because of the significant reduction of the political and economic influence of Russia the vacuum became filled by other world players, especially by the developed countries. Mongolia communicated with more than 140 countries, also in the sphere of the economic cooperation. And their financial, political and consultative assistance had the effect and led to the increase of the basic economic indicators of Mongolia in the 2000s. The paper analyzes the main economic indicators and the foreign trade turnover of Mongolia in the 2000s. Basing on the official data of the Statistical Office of Mongolia, the authors offer the analysis of the trade of Mongolia; identify the main economic partners of the country and the specifics of their relationships.
