Current Tendencies of Electoral Process in the Republic of Bashkortostan

In the article the electoral process in the Republic of Bashkortostan during the campaign of the election of deputies to the republican parliament in the autumn of 2013 is analyzed. External federal and regional conditions of the campaign are designated; new trends of the electoral process that characterize the role of Bashkortostan`s executive authorities and of participation of business and parties are identified. The author analyzes trends that started earlier and continued in the new cycle, such as the increase in the level of parties` participation, maintenance of the instrumental role of parties and of low competition level, controlled nature of elections, limited role of the electoral choice factor. New phenomena in the political process of the republic are identified. It is the practices of elite conflict and the transfer of elite conflicts to the field of electoral competition; and emergence of legitimate competition between authorities and opposition in the parliament of the republic
