Abstract
Elections of 2014 in some states of the South-Eastern Europe have revealed new trends: the rise of the protest voting, a request for an update of the political scene, craving for non-system forces and leaders, mainly the marginal and populist or the nationalist ones. In other states a visible socio-economic disadvantage had no match impact on the electoral process. The author asks whether it is the crisis of confidence in the political class.
