Abstract
On the basis of sociological characteristic of the modern socio-cultural state of the society the article gives the analysis of identification processes, raises issues of national identity as precondition of cultural and spiritual self-identification of the modern Russia, determines the tasks for spiritual development and the ways of their realization with regard to cultural policy and forecasting model of national identification. At least three circumstances impede this process. First, the culture lags behind the tasks of state-building and does not correspond to complicated processes of social development. Modern Russian culture generates multiculturalism (the presence of different cultural backgrounds and subcultures). Another obstacle is the split in the Russian culture, which promotes social and cultural chaos. Social heterogeneity of society is present. Failtures in cultural policy are the third obstacle. The author notes that providing measures of cultural consolidation of society should be the main aim of cultural policy today
