Abstract
The system of decision making is the core of the field of politics. The made decisions are significant and obligatory for all. At the same time the process of political decision making goes side by side with the conflict management. And the most fundamental of such mechanisms is a mechanism of the social contract which determines principles and procedures for the individual and groups to coordinate their interests and make decisions on the socially important problems. The social contract, as it is perceived by actors, determines their attitude towards both the conflict and the methods of prevention of its most destructive consequences. That is why the phenomenon of social contract is a valuable subject for conflict studies.
