Abstract
The authors pay attention to the forms, motivation and the dynamics of the civil activism in Russia. Analyzing the dynamics of the Russian social and political activity of the latest years authors conclude that despite a visible upsurge of the civil activism during 2010-2013 civil activism in Russia is still the privilege of a very narrow social strata. Moreover, many civil activists are very enthusiastic about the social activism, while they are less enthusiastic about engaging in political self-organization. But Russian citizens in whole perceive the goal of the protection of political rights as well as social ones.
