Abstract
The article describes the military organization of the Mongol State in the period of its consolidation. The state was created in the spirit of brigade traditions of nomadic warriors of Central Asia and it transformed into a powerful organization of the armed forces of the contemporary world. It was the army that became the backbone of administration of the state and society. The conquered territories were distributed among the closest associates and henchmen of Genghis Khan. Due to the administration system the operative mobilization possibility was envisaged. For the sake of the rapid deployment of the troops and for the fiscal services the whole state was divided into military districts. The largest of them were called the «tumen». Each «tumen» was divided into thousands, hundreds and tens. Structure of authority system and administration was characterized by a rigid hierarchy. The article describes its hierarchy structure, components and detachments recruited from other nations.
