Abstract
The author analyzes the results of the sociological research of the mass expectations in the Republic of Dagestan. The surge of expectations occurred here after the change of the head of the republic. Using the basis of the sociological research the author concludes that excessive expectations are always transforming into the high demands that one can observe in the Republic of Dagestan. In a modern democratic society the government cannot fully neglect the requirements of the public but the full realization of such expectations is also impossible.
