Abstract

The article is devoted to relations of Mongolia with so called «Asian tigers»: South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. South Korea is one of the main partners of Mongolia in East Asia. Along with other countries, South Korea has actively participated in the development of the young Mongolian democracy. Between Mongolia and South Korea, there is an intensive dialogue at the highest level, a number of commercial projects has been implementing. Singapore and Taiwan are not traditional partners of Mongolia. Although diplomatic relations were established in the Soviet era, they were unable to develop due to objective political circumstances. Only at the end of 20th century new industrial countries were able to enter a new market. Therefore, it’s of great interest to analyze economic statistics and determine the nature of trade between Mongolia, South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. Relying on official statistics, and on the results of calculations the authors determine the nature of the foreign trade balance. The share of South Korean, Singaporean and Taiwanese trade in total exports and imports of Mongolia is distinguished.
