Abstract
The article analyzes the relationship between the dominant contemporary European calculating nature of rational thinking and the phenomenon of social, constructed within its frames. The author examines the emergence of social knowledge in the context of an isomorphic form of instrumental reason, striving for the decomposition of holistic and universal nature of human existence on quantifiable and manageable elements. As a result ratio discourse is interpreted as an implicit basis of social disturbances of the constructed social world.
