The Management of Social Processes through Church and Public Projects

Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church not for the first time has been mastering the techniques of attracting tangible and intangible resources to its activities, in particular through participation in grant competitions. For many Church organizations the model grant project is an international open grant contest «Orthodox initiative». However, every year more and more parishes and dioceses are trying their hand at other competitions, including distribution of budgetary funds of the federal and regional levels. This year another local grant competition has been added to secure additional funding. It is the local grant competition. The article analyzes the instruments by which the Church community spreads the ideas of social planning, and describes a successful regional model to create regional resource centers and provides examples when the Church finds means to resolve social problems of Russian society.
