Abstract
The contemporary sociological research shows that the Russians are distancing themselves from politics. The article describes a theoretical and empirical study basis of the students’ political tolerance. Some results of an empirical study conducted by the author at the end of 2011 are presented. The author makes conclusions about the type of party identity of the students, the level of political tolerance of students and about the nature of the relationship between indicators of political tolerance of students and their party identity. The political tolerance of the individual affects the subjective factor of political identity of the individual. The results of the analysis revealed statistically significant differences in terms of political tolerance within subgroups of different parties’ sympathizers.
