Abstract

After the Islamic revolution of 1979 in Iran, when radical Shiite clericals came to power, the country found itself facing an international isolation. A motto of exporting the Islamic revolution was adopted. Iran became a stronghold of Islamic Shiite radicalism, being committed to the embodiment of the Islamic rule in particular countries with significant number of Shiite population. The greatest success in this regard was achieved in Lebanon.
