Abstract
The article examines the process of strategic planning in the context of the need for elaboration of Strategic prognosis of the Russian Federation according to the Federal law «On strategic planning in the Russian Federation». Special attention is paid to the analysis of weaknesses of current Long-term prognosis of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030, and considers its place in the system of the state strategic planning documents.
