Abstract
The stormy and controversial social and political practice of the 21st century reveals the fact that politicians, scientists and citizens search most actively for the answer to the questions what are modern revolutions, what are their origins, how they differ from the revolutionary practices of the past, what can they cause? It is important to assess essential features and models of revolutions of the 21st century in order to use the revolutionary potential for autopurification and evolutionary change, while avoiding the damaging effects of the social elements and slipping the society into chaos.
