Abstract
For more than twenty years in the world of karate, the only question has been discussed: will karate become an Olympic sport? After the dream of millions of karate lovers has come true, the Olympic team of Russia has faced the task of multifunctional training of karate players and a successful performance at the 30th Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in 2020 in Tokyo. The practice of the previous Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro showed that there are no weak teams or athletes in martial arts now, and mostly those fighters who win from the beginning to the end of the fight and do not lose control over the fight for a second, showing the highest technical and tactical training. An analysis of domestic and foreign literary sources shows that the tactical preparation of the karate sportsmen, taking into account the new rules, is very weakly studied. The results of the research conducted by the authors and many years of experience in training highly qualified athletes enable them to determine as accurately as possible the role of tactics in the overall training system.
