Abstract
The article discusses how TV channel CCTV News covers national interests and strategic ideas of China. The author analyzes the specifics of the events broadcast on the website of CCTV News for proving that China has a great strategy, which includes a set of national interests and a number of strategic ideas to achieve these interests. In order to study accents and characteristics of communication, the author considers 165 analytical articles from the opinion pages on CCTV News website from June to December 2016, and concludes that the CCTV News adequately illuminates the direction of development of China's foreign policy, and thus contributes to the buildup of its soft power.
