Abstract
The article examines the relationship between the US and the European Union in investment and trading activities ahead of the likely signing of an agreement on a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Though direct investment flows between the US and the EU are already the largest for both economies, the signing of the agreement could increase export and investment flows that will stimulate the economies of the participating countries and support creation of new jobs on both sides of the Atlantic, and deepen the interpenetration of TNCs. An analysis of the dynamics of foreign direct investment indicates the relevance of the agreement for the development of economies of the participating countries.
