Abstract
The article traces the main causes of land conflicts arising among modern nomads of Mongolia. The author connects the conflicts with the unsettled land legal relations, as well as with socio-economic reasons. Traditional land use faces competition from mining companies, tourist companies, and farmers engaged in crop production. In addition, there is internal competition among nomads for the use of pastures, associated with active migration processes.
