Abstract
The article is devoted to the history of creation and evolution of the Volga United River Shipping Company in the postwar years. The authors describe the process of establishing of a large monopolistic socialist transport association and characterize shipping company structure and its administrative divisions. The article is of interest to everyone who is interested in the social and economic history of Russia.
