Abstract
The article highlights the main problems associated with the functioning of the pension system. The author analyzes social, demographic and other factors affecting the normal functioning of the pension system of the Russian Federation and considers its structure. In the chronological order, the article shows the stages of reforming the pension system of the Russian Federation, gives the analysis of changes, and describes the nearest prospects of reforming the Russian pension system.
