Abstract
The article analyzes problems of efficiency of activity of internal troops during the period from 1991 to 2016, from the moment of transformation of internal troops of the USSR in internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, and before their reorganization in Federal National Guard Troops Service of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardiya). The author specifies the criteria for determining their effectiveness, and proves the achievement of the main strategic objectives for ensuring Russia's security from internal threats on safety of Russia from internal threats.
