Abstract
The article is devoted to the activities of the tsarist authorities to create a health care system for the indigenous population of the region. Since Russian Turkestan was under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of War, this system was entirely subordinated to the Main Military Medical Department of the Turkestan Military District. In its activities in relation to the indigenous population of the region, it was guided by legal instruments, which established the principles of medical care of the population, including indigenous one. The author believes that in general, the Russian authorities in Turkestan managed to achieve significant civilizational results in the field of healthcare that had a positive impact on the way of life of the indigenous population.
