Abstract
The article discusses the main trends in the evolution of Buddhist dogma and the development of Buddhist monastic complexes in ethnic Buryatia. The anthropology of popular belief in Buddhist theory and practice demonstrates the general universal structure of the perception of Buddhist culture by Buryats in line with the adaptation of Buddhism to a meta-ethnic Mongolian community – all Mongolian people.
