Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of the political Internet meme as a phenomenon of modern information culture. Basing on the fact that Internet memes are derivatives of mass-orientation and show-orientation, the author turns to the analysis of the Internet meme as a tool for managing public consciousness in the context of a political-semantic approach. The paper pays a special attention to identifying the destructive effects of political Internet memes.
