Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of generational gaps in Russian society in the 2000s–2010s. Separation of generations, their critical attitude towards each other, mutual complaints about ageism give rise to an unhealthy social atmosphere and lead to increasing conflicts. Accordingly, from this point of view, the author considers the characteristic features of an «organic» and «split» state and society. Particularly in the article, the objective and subjective factors provoking a generational conflict are investigated. The author suggests ways to optimize the situation and establish an intergenerational dialogue. Otherwise, the conflict of generation Z with its predecessors is fraught with serious political and economic risks for the Russian statehood.
