Abstract
The article discusses the problems in the migration sphere that arose due to the new virus COVID-19. Against the backdrop of a pandemic, the Russian labor market experienced a sharp reduction in jobs, especially in those sectors where migrants were employed. The authors note that the state via the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia promptly took a number of measures to extend the stay of foreign citizens during the crisis in order to prevent the growth of irregular migrants.
The authors conclude that in order to counteract the formation of a negative scenario for the development of the situation on the Russian labor market with the participation of labor migrants, it is necessary now to develop and quickly take additional measures that should come from the state and representatives of employers, both profile and socially oriented ones.
