Abstract
The article considers the problem of statehood in a nomadic society. The author shows the pendulum nature of the dynamics of political processes among nomads, whose methodology is actively developed recently, which reflects the nonlinearity of sociopolitical evolution. The author believes that in the period 16th – early 17th century Mongolian society is undergoing a series of unique transformations that testify the establishment of a stable tendency to gain state power.
