Abstract
The article provides a brief overview of the activities of the academic school of orientalism in Buryatia, highlights source research and the works of the staff of the Institute in Buddhism, Tibetology and Religious Studies. The author analyzes the contribution of Buryat scientists to the development of the oriental direction in Russia.
