Abstract

The article presents the principles of promoting the ideas of patriotism among Russian students. The author highlights the key problems that hinder the effective patriotic education of students including the problem of regional disproportion in socio-economic development and the difference in relations between the center and regions, significant costs for organizational needs, the confinement of patriotic events mainly on four holidays, the formality of the events and involvement in participation of the same students. The article presents possible formats of events aimed at promoting the ideas of patriotism and gives recommendations to improve their effectiveness.
