Abstract

The Object of the Study. Quality and standard of living of the population of Russia. The Subject of the Study. Interregional inequality in the quality and standard of living of the population on the basis of social indicators. The Purpose of the Article. Comparative analysis of Russian regions on the basis of social indicators of quality and living standards of the population, evaluation and analysis of interregional inequalities that evolved from indicators of quality and living standards of the population. The Main Provisions of the Article. An analysis of the living standards and quality of life in Russian regions based on social indicators (the index of human development, the purchasing power of the monetary incomes of the population, the level of absolute poverty of the population by income, the Gini coefficient, the coefficient of funds, the gross regional product) has been given. Ranking federal districts on the quality and standard of living of the population has been carried out. It is shown that high interregional inequality persists in a number of social indicators. Regions in which the situation developed on the indicators of quality and living standards of the population require improvement and close attention on the part of public authorities and local government.
