Abstract

The level of fertility in the Far East Federal Okrug is higher than that in the country as a whole (the total ratio in 2016 was almost 0.1 or 5.4% higher than the national average). However, the increase in the magnitude of this indicator over the past decade in the Far East was somewhat smaller than in Russia as a whole. This is due to the peculiarities of the demographic policy regarding the birth rate in this region, the policy of providing maternal (family) capital in particular. Object of the Study. The fertility data in the Far East Federal Okrug. Subject of the Study. Trends of fertility in the Far East in the 2000s. Purpose of the Study. Identifying characteristics of the level and dynamics of fertility and its regional differences in the Far East Federal Okrug.
