Abstract

Indicators characterizing economic and social situation of the indigenous ethnic groups of the North living Chukotka (gender and age structure, employment, unemployment, salary level, migratory processes), condition of traditional branches of economy (reindeer breeding, sea hunting, fishery), interaction of indigenous people and mining companies are considered. Object of the Study. The indigenous ethnic groups of the North living in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Subject of the Study. Economic and social situation of the indigenous small peoples in the the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug . Purpose of the Study. On the basis of analyzing of social and economic processes in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug to define the main problems of current status of the indigenous ethnic groups of the North.
