Abstract

Object of the Study. The rural labour market. Subject of the Study. The spatial differences and imbalances on the rural labour market. Purpose of the Study. Exploring the local asymmetry on the rural labour market and its impact on the sustainability of rural areas. The authors have examined the relationship of tension and spatial asymmetry on the rural labour market and the sustainability of rural areas and formed the system of private and integral indicators of tension on the labour market and proposed methodological approach to determine feasible limits of variation. They assessed the territorial inequalities on the Altay state rural labour market and built a classification of the rural areas according to the index of tension on the labour market.  Besides, a conclusion of mostly symmetrical type of spatial development in the rural labour market in the region during the analyzed period, and a conclusion of increasing the sustainability of rural areas according to socio-labour sustainability criteria were made.
