Abstract
Object of the Study. The article deals with the development and modernization of the life support system settlements the Altay Republic.
Subject of the Study. Development of social infrastructure of settlements, such as means of communication, electric balance, education establishments, health care, communication and broadcasting.
Purpose of the Study. Describe the dynamics of the development social infrastructure elements Altai Republic in the 1990th – 2000th.
Main Theoretical and Empirical Provisions of the Article. The investigated region is represented by one city Gorno-Altaysk and about 245 settlements with the total population of 215 thousand (2016). The features of the social infrastructure in the life support system of the population in the Altay Republic have been analized. Despite the crisis and the reforms in the 1990s in the Altay Republic the rise of certain elements of social infrastructure has taken place since the early 2000s. Development of new infrastructure such as alternative energy sources and modernization of complexes of social infrastructure was due to the growth of the constitutional and legal status of the region in the 1990s. But with a future increase in consumption, living standards and quality of life, the development of the recreational sphere in the Altay Republic for the population and visitors to the region, the qualitative growth and improving the infrastructure of the entire system, which in the 2010s don’t meet the demand, are badly in need. The empirical data for conducting research are based on the official statistical data on the Altay Republic for 1993-2012. The author notes the tendency of increase in the operational length of means of communication, consumption of electricity, the number of cars in the private vehicle fleet, comprehensive schools, medical, institutions and doctors, the enterprises of mass communications.
