Abstract
Object of the Study. Problems of employment of rural population.
Subject of the Study. The main problems of rural employment in Altai Republic.
Purpose of the Study. Explore the status and dynamics of rural employment in the region.
Main Theoretical and Empirical Provisions of the Article. Problems of employment and unemployment become more relevant in connection with globalization of world economy, change of structure of the Russian market of labour. Economic reforms in Russia have led to essential changes in rural life of the country in the agrarian structure in particular. The new forms of agriculture, such as private farms, the personal subsidiary farm has strongly emancipated, fixed assets of agrarian production – lands, agricultural machinery and the equipment were privatized. The result of this is the unemployment in rural regions and declining living standard of the rural population. The author analyzes to problems of employment of rural population in the Altay Republic. The territory of the Altay Republic is characterized by concentration the main part of the population (71%) in rural areas. The number of resident population of the Altay Republic in 2013 amounted to 210,3 thousand people, (60,8 thousand, country people – 149,5 thousand people). Like many regions of Siberia, in the Altay Republic, due to the decline in agricultural production traditional rural jobs were lost and the transition of people employed people to the public and trade sectors is going on. The main empirical data in the article are based on official statistics of employment and unemployment rate of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation and Territorial authority of Federal State Statistics Service in the Altay Republic. On the basis of statistical data the analysis of the state and rural employment dynamics in the region in 1993 – 2013 has been made.
