Abstract
The factors that have a decisive influence on the formation of patterns of consumer Behaviour of households in transformational economy of Russia are considered.
It is shown that the main group of factors in the first years of the post-Soviet economy was connected with the extreme conditions of consumption during the economic crisis, accompanied by breaking the usual stereotypes of behaviour, values, norms. If in the first years of the transformational crisis, the main factors of consumer behaviour were the inflation and the deficit, in subsequent years while maintaining the effects of inflation, the saturation of the market with goods, satisfaction of effective demand become a critical factor. In this case the key characteristics and consumer behaviour remains the socioeconomic differentiation of households by income level and consumption structure.
The author reveals mechanism formed in the period of market transformations in Russia of a new, specific "on the contrary deficit", "deficit in terms of commodity abundance" when starting conditions were created for different social groups, putting them in obviously unequal position in relation to availability of goods and services and at the same time preserving and aggravating this situation.
